Meet the Prim Reapers

Photograph of Lizzy Walker, one of the Prim Reapers, looking at the camera, wearing black cat eye eyeglasses, smiling with her mouth closed. Her long, straight, red hair is peeking out from underneath her black crocheted hat.

Lizzy Walker is the Metadata and Digital Initiatives Librarian at Wichita State University Libraries. In addition to her responsibilities regarding metadata and digitization projects, she recommends titles from the horror genre, has created WiHM displays, and an event LibGuide for the Libraries. She garnered support from the WiHM founder and is now the first official WiHM Librarian. Lizzy is highly invested in WiHM internal and external to the Libraries.

Lizzy’s beautiful grandmother, Phyllis, introduced her to horror movies at a young age, and the rest is history.

portrait of Faye, one of the Prim Reapers, looking away from the camera with large red glitter cat eye glasses and red lipstick.Faye O’Reilly is the Digital Resources Librarian at Wichita State University Libraries, enabling access to the library’s electronic collections through the link resolver, OPAC, LibGuides, discovery layer and more. She brings extensive experience working with streaming video and emerging electronic formats and licensing, as well as experience in Public Services and programming for young adults.

Faye’s love of horror started when her dad let her watch Dracula (1931) before bed when she was eight… which also started a series of recurring, childhood nightmares where Dracula lived in her closet. Now, Faye wishes Dracula lived in her closet… can you imagine the wealth of experience he’d have? Centuries of knowledge and life in the shadows!

A special thanks…

While this brainchild has two mothers, it would not exist without the Women in Horror Month movement. We are launching our brainchild on the 9th birthday of WiHM. Thank you, Hannah, for starting this beautiful, bloody event and to all the creators who help keep it fed. Without you, there would be no Prim Reapers.
