What do the ratings mean?
The Prim Reapers have included the Motion Picture Association of America’s (MPAA) rating for each film. The MPAA developed a film rating system for the USA and it’s territories to rate a film’s suitability for certain audiences based on its content. You can find out more about MPAA film ratings with the handy infographic from their website (https://www.mpaa.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/film_ratings1.jpg):
Why did you include content warnings?
Content warnings are meant to notify users of this index that a film contains certain elements they may find disturbing, and in the horror genre, there are many. Triggered reactions for victims of assault and violence, people who live with PTSD or other clinical disorders, individuals who have experienced the mental toll of racism and bullying or major trauma, can be intense, unpleasant and completely encompassing. A brief indication that something in the film has the potential to cause reactions gives vulnerable users a chance to decide whether or not they are able to view the film. Though we cannot foresee every instance of triggering material, the Prim Reapers have included some commonly known triggers in our index to support all users. If you feel a certain content warning should be added to an entry, please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
